Hair removal with wax is continually evolving. I have worked with hot waxes made from beeswax and resin which were strong but brittle (you had to get it right), sugaring pastes which were unbearably tacky and stuck to the skin as well as the hair, especially in warm weather, and strip and non-strip waxes with varying consistencies and fragrances. Waxing has come a long way, allowing smooth skin to be enjoyed with greater comfort than ever before.

Waxing allows you not to worry on a daily basis about hair growth and stubble. It is immediate, effective, and affordable, and over time can significantly reduce hair density. Waxes continue to improve every year in response to clients' wishes for a quicker and more comfortable hair removal experience. I am principally a skincare therapist and clients are often surprised that I perform waxing treatments. In the main, it is the face and bikini areas that I focus on because these are particularly delicate areas where careful technique is essential to avoid irritation or trauma.

Lycon Waxing for Intimate and Precision Hair Removal

At Daydreams, I use Lycon waxes because they are designed to prioritise skin comfort while still delivering highly effective hair removal, even on very short hair.

Lycon stripless hot wax is particularly suited to intimate waxing as it is used at a low temperature and infused with natural, soothing ingredients. The wax is designed to “shrink-wrap” the hair rather than adhere to the skin, helping to reduce discomfort and minimise skin stress during treatment.

Before waxing, a light oil is applied to create a protective barrier over the skin. This allows the wax to grip the hair effectively while supporting the skin’s surface.

After hair removal, the area is carefully cleansed with an anti-bump solution to help reduce the risk of ingrown hairs or irritation, followed by a soothing serum and a finishing aromatherapy oil to calm and support the skin.

Lycon waxing is particularly effective for intimate areas, where precision and gentleness are essential.

Intimate Waxing Options

Different clients prefer different levels of hair removal, and there is no need to know exact terminology in advance. Options can be tailored comfortably, whether that is a simple bikini line tidy or more extensive intimate waxing.

Common styles include:

• Brazilian (leaving a narrow strip)

• Hollywood (full removal of all hair)

Chest and back waxing are also available.
